Friendship Remotely

Some times, a person that you only know through Television in a way becomes a ‘friend’. I know y’all will think I’m crazy for saying that. However, this situation is a bit different because he, Dan Wheeler, has shared so much of himself and his family not just on QVC but on Facebook and other media outlets. Perhaps it’s because what he’s shared is of his wife, Beth, and their battle with her Cancer.

Beth has been fighting Endometrial cancer for 5 years. A hard fought battle and she and their family have done it with grace and love. Over the last months the Cancer came on with such force and 5 weeks ago Beth was hospitalized. They tried platelet transfusions which sadly did not work and Beth left this world on Friday, October 30th.

By all that I’ve seen of Beth, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her personally and now by so many because of Dan’s blog sharing.

Hold everyone you love close and be sure to let them know how you feel about them. Cancer really does Suck!

You should know that this story of Beth is personal for me as I feel so lucky and blessed, I found my Uterine which can also be called Endometrial, so very early and survived again. I feel such sadness for Beth and her family, she had so much love and didn’t deserve to leave them so soon.

All I can say is this, Cancer is a battle, it is a fight and there are way to many types and too many people diagnosed. Those that are Survivors we Celebrate but we should also Remember and Celebrate the lives of those who have lost their battles with Cancer.

Is there a cure, I really dont know based on this is a disease from your cells and that is what we are made up from. Can the CSP-3 study that is tracking habits and lifestyles that the American Cancer Society is doing (thank you Dan Adler and others for being a part of this) find the answers, I don’t know.

If you listen to everything they say, then you will never eat anything again. Cancer shouldn’t be about fear and I hope you do not take that away from anything I ever say. The default cause of course is my least favorite word in every language, the O word that I will never type out. I was 8 and one of the healthiest kids around, no history in the family and bam there it was the first time. When they focused on the O word they totally missed the 2nd battle I’d have and still have, hence the hate of the O word.

We should live life to the fullest and laugh as much as we can. I think we should also eat what we like and what we can (allergies and diabetes aside) just do so as all things in moderation. You know yourself better than anyone else, you know when something is wrong. If you do find any changes going on with yourself, please get thee to a doctor, there are signs and many of them are quiet.

I started this about a remote friend, who I will never meet, Dan Wheeler from that home shopping station QVC.  His wife, Beth, has left an imprint on me and many others through what he has shared from his heart. Beth will be remembered by so many and Celebrated not just by her family and friends.  They have also shared Beth’s memorial celebration service, so touching and filled with love. From this service, I’ve added, “See You Again,” by Carrie Underwood.

I can only send remote hugs and love to the entire Wheeler Family, and know that Beth will always be with them and everyone she has touched.  R.I.P Elizabeth Ann (Johnson) Wheeler, I know that you are dancing with the angels. xoxo

Gynecologic Cancer Ribbons

Please Support ALL the Colors Of Cancer

I see another company selling items for cancer, and yup it’s all pink, saw another town going all out on pink.  Please Don’t get me wrong, I fight for pink too and I admire all those that fight this battle with Breast Cancer.  I walk with them and support them throughout their cancer fight.  I also yell for Pink all during the month of October.

BUT there are other colors too, May is Grey (brain cancer / brain tumor) and Black (skin cancer / Melanoma), coming up in June is National Cancer Survivor Month and that’s Lavender.  Please show your support for the other colors of the ribbons, tell your companies to get their Teal on for Ovarian Cancer, Purple for Pancreatic Cancer, White for Lung Cancer, Light Blue for Prostate Cancer.  I’ve attached the list of colors.

Call into the Empire State Building because they will go all different colors to support some good causes, and some silly ones ….. BUT Refuse to turn Gold For Childhood Cancer Month in September.

I am an Advocate for Cancer Education, Research, Programs for the Survivors and their Families and help the Families of those who have lost their battles.

I am the Captain of Team Rays Of Hope and I Celebrate ~ Remember ~ Fight Back For All The Colors Of Cancer.

1st Day Of Your New Year

Today’s the 1st day in our New Year.  I like to think we start off with a clean slate and that all we have is the future of 2015.  When we were younger we had a diary or a journal perhaps and now we have blogs, Facebook, Instagram and others social outlets.  Ways to put down our thoughts, what our day is like, photos of what’s happening, share with others our lives.

I like to think that when a new year begins, our ‘book’ begins filled with blank pages.  Pages that each day we are able to write down our experiences and/or photos, to share with others or to just keep private.  This blog is new for me and in this Year of 2015 I’ll be sharing with you my thoughts, photos, music, experiences from “real life” and my virtual world known as Second Life (I’ll get to that soon I promise)

Today, January 1st of 2015 was uneventful for me, just a relaxing day of Hope. Hope for so many things but most of all that I’ll be able to get back to work on Monday after these 8 weeks of recovery from surgery.  Surgery that I didn’t hesitate to have and that was a damn good thing too!  I Hope for my Family and Friends only the best things in life. I Hope for Love, I Hope For Peace……  I Hope

I look forward to sharing my story here and reading yours, seeing your photos in your social media outlet as our future becomes the present.  Tonight I give you a song I really like, “Unwritten,” by Natasha Bedingfield and remember that :

“No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten”

Last Hours of 2014

It’s the home stretch of the finale of 2014 and so many are already wishing Happy New Year and thinking of 2015.  This is a Grand Night for certain and one that fills many with melancholy and many others with alcohol LOL

2014 was an eventful year for me many good things, many dramatic times, many medical times LOL and lots of moments filled with laughter.

I find myself always in a mellow almost sad time on this evening every year.  Thinking back not only on 2014 but on the many that have left us and won’t be here to hug or call and wish Happy New Year when the clock strikes midnight.

It’s with this in my heart that I’ll post this for now ……. “Same Old Lang Syne” by Dan Fogelberg

Be Safe On Your Travels This Night and Be Sure To Blow A Kiss To 2014 and Make A Wish For 2015 Just Before Midnight xoxo
